Mission and Values
SAHAYOG’s Mission is:
To promote gender equality and women’s health from a human rights framework
by strengthening partnership-based advocacy.
SAHAYOG has a vision of being a space for those engaged in effective advocacy
for human rights, towards a society where marginalized groups and individuals
raise their voices to claim equal human rights.
SAHAYOG’s work is guided by the following Values:
- Equity and Equality – We work primarily with
the issues of marginalized groups and individuals such as rural, low-income,
low-literacy communities, who may be Dalit, Muslim or tribal; we promote
diversity in our Governing Body and our staff.
- Participation – We believe people, have to
right to participate in decision-making that concerns them, even if they are
rural, non-literate or poor; organizational staff have the right to be part
of framing organizational rules.
- Transparency – We promote people’s use of
the Right to Information; we uphold budget and accounting transparency; all
staff are transparent in reporting their work each month.
- Effectiveness – We are committed to bringing
about grassroots empowerment leading to policy and programme change through
our work; we believe in delivering quality outputs.
