Center for Health and Social Justice (CHSJ)

CHSJ is a health policy resource centre working with the mission “to promote human development, gender equality, human rights and social justice with specific reference to the field health, in its widest interpretation.” CHSJ was established in 2006 and works with civil society and government to facilitate the formulation and implementation of health policies and programmes to ensure social justice.

Healthwatch Forum

Healthwatch Forum is a network active in several north Indian states for advocacy and monitoring on reproductive health and rights. Healthwatch Forum maintains the Reprohealth Listserve which is used by advocates and concerned civil society members to communicate about maternal and reproductive health and rights across India. SAHAYOG is anchoring the secretariat of Healthwatch Forum. Within UP, Healthwatch Forum has been active in case documentation and case work on denial of maternal health services and quality of family planning services, as well as organizing dialogue with state actors and media advocacy.

HUMSAFAR

HUMSAFAR, a Support Centre for Women in Crisis in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, works to ensure a holistic response to women’s human rights violations. The Centre provides a wide variety of support services including paralegal, legal, medical, social mediation, counseling, rescue, shelter and rehabilitation.

MASVAW

Men’s Action to Stop Violence Against Women (MASVAW) is an alliance of men and organizations working on gender issues, committed to reacting to and reducing incidents of violence against women. Through cultural and advocacy campaigns, MASVAW raises awareness and recruits new network members who will work for institutional changes in gender relations. MASVAW is primarily active in the state of Uttar Pradesh and has some members in the state of Uttarakhand.

MenEngage

MenEngage is a global alliance of non-governmental organizations that are involved in an array of research, interventions, and policy initiatives seeking to engage men and boys in effective ways to reduce gender inequalities and promote health and the well-being of women, men, and children. The alliance includes several major international organizations, as well as local and national groups with extensive experience in engaging men and boys in gender equality and reducing violence.
