Youth for Change (Pariwartan mein Yuva, Y4C) is a platform of youth leaders across 10 districts of Uttar Pradesh, who lead youth groups with around a thousand aged 13 to 24 year olds. This platform was created through a four-year process of capacity building of youth groups in collaboration with programme partners with eleven NGOs across Uttar Pradesh. Youth enhanced their capacities to take on local leadership roles and participate effectively in advocating for youth friendly services and youth-centred policy-making.
Youth for Change prepared youth leaders to join civil society activists and organisations to form a Youth Policy Advocacy Network (YPAN) in Uttar Pradesh. Since 2010, YPAN has been campaigning for a comprehensive Youth Policy to address the health and development needs of the 60 million young people of the state.
Youth for Change believes that youth must be key actors at every level of the advocacy and policy-making processes. All Y4C activities provide youth with knowledge and skills that will help them to hold their community and government accountable for providing them with essential health services and information.
